Teaser Tuesday – “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card

Man Reading Book and Sitting on Bookshelf in LibraryTeaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I normally wouldn’t pick up a book like Ender’s Game and read it for two reasons. First, it looks like a kids book. Secondly, I sometimes get lost in the science fiction genre, but not this time. I picked it up because a friend recommended it and I’m pleasantly surprised. I loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one. In fact, I’m going to see the movie on Friday…yes, it was that good!

This quote is from Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card:

“It made Ender listen more carefully to what people meant, instead of what they said. It made him wise.”

Perhaps we should all listen more carefully…Happy Reading!

  1. I wanted to read this before the movie came out, but time just got away from me. Need to bump it up on my TBR list. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
